I was born in Taiwan, mostly grew up around the San Francisco Bay Area, and moved to Portland, Oregon in 2013. I’ve gone from foreign student to H-1B worker to American citizen.
In an earlier life, I was a user experience designer, working for OkCupid Labs, Idealist.org, and Upworthy.
These days, my work tends to center around around disability justice. I created and ran Affect Conf from 2015-2018 and my current main project is Disabled And Here. If you’re looking for my disability origin story, part of it lives in this Rooted in Rights piece.
At the moment, I serve on the Marie Equi Center’s Community Guidance Council and Oregon Consumer Justice’s Data Privacy Cohort.
Outside of work, I like to read, sing (I’ve participated in a karaoke contest and attempted to compose songs with poor results), and pet all the good dogs. In late 2017, I started hand lettering and released a tiny queer-focused collection of letterpress cards.
Still want more? I’m semi-active on Instagram and Bluesky. If you enjoy streams of consciousness, here’s the microblog.
